Him: Tell me your whole life.
You: I was born and it was nice.
You: Okay your turn now.
Remember this: If you talk too much,
people begin to know you.
Ask questions instead.
You: Why did you leave home?
Him: My father fucked me up. You?You: Got antsy. That’s all.
Him: Can I kiss you now?
You: If you want to. It’s your call.
Him: I thought it was yours.
You: If you’d like to leave
I don’t mind. Just tell me now.
Him: I didn’t say that.
And this: Be the type of girl
who can sit alone for hours
and not be lonely
Him: Why are you broken?
You: I only broke my toe once.
You: I fell down some stairs.
Also this: If you are reading
poetry at the bus stop,
no one can hurt you.
